All Things Go Festival Doubling the Music Magic in DC and NYC
The D.C.-born festival expands its reach to New York City, featuring Janelle Monáe, Hozier, Bleachers, and Reneé Rapp.
In October 2021, when the world was still slowly coming back, the All Things Go Music Festival emerged as a beacon of hope, reigniting a music scene starved for connection. I remember the thrill of gathering at Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion after two years of hiatus and lockdowns, where artists like St. Vincent and Charli XCX delivered unforgettable comeback performances. It felt like, wow! This is what a music festival truly feels like. I nearly forgot!
Three years later, All Things Go, a D.C.-born music festival, is expanding to two locations—Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion and, for the first time, New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium—featuring Janelle Monáe, Hozier, Bleachers, and Reneé Rapp, among other big pop and indie artists (in today's music scene where indie musicians have risen to stardom…).
Despite Chappell Roan's recent cancellation of her appearances at the All Things Go Festival this weekend due to health concerns, this year’s festival showcases an impressive roster of artists performing in both Maryland and New York City, creating a unique connection between the two locations. Reneé Rapp, Holly Humberstone, Del Water Gap and Soccer Mommy are poised to deliver unforgettable sets in both stages, Merriweather Post Pavilion and the Forest Hills Stadium.
Below: Soccer Mommy, Hozier, Reneé Rapp and Del Water Gap make up the lineup for this year's All Things Go Music Festival, doubling in Maryland and New York City.
In Maryland, fans can look forward to an exciting mix of artists ready to thrill. Day one features Bleachers bringing their nostalgic indie-pop energy to the stage. Remi Wolf’s quirky charisma will elevate the festival atmosphere, and Michael Kiwanuka’s soulful melodies promise to captivate.
New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium will host a fresh lineup that complements its D.C. counterpart. Coco & Clair Clair will bring their playful, genre-bending pop to the stage, while Samia is set to impress with her unique sound. The festival will also feature the rising talent of Towa Bird and the distinctive vibes of Lola Young, ensuring a diverse range of performances for the NYC crowd. The festival’s expansion to NYC not only highlights its growing popularity but also introduces a new audience to the incredible talent on display.
This simultaneous celebration of music is reminiscent of the ambitious experiment by Primavera Sound, held in Barcelona and replicated in Madrid just a weekend later. It wasn’t without its challenges, but it was a bold move—a chance to broaden the festival’s reach. It also brings to mind Summercase, once a colossal event in Barcelona and Madrid that drew over 150,000 people during the 2000s before succumbing to the weight of competition. Splitting an audience between two cities is inherently risky, but for All Things Go, it’s a gamble that could pay off.
