Festival RUIDOSA Brings Latinx Women’s Music to Lincoln Center in NYC
The pioneering international Latinx women’s music festival, is set to make its New York debut at Lincoln Center with a powerful lineup of concerts and panel discussions, celebrating and elevating the voices of Latina women in the music industry.
RUIDOSA Fest was born in 2016 as an interdisciplinary international feminist festival, combining music and activism. It is an incredible showcase of women making a difference in the music industry, particularly in the Latin music scene. Since its inception, RUIDOSA's growth has been remarkable, demonstrating the vital need for organizations that propel women in music. The festival’s international scope and mission resonate deeply with us.
Reflecting on RUIDOSA's impactful journey, the organization has shown exceptional effectiveness in highlighting female musical talent across Latin America. During its first edition in Santiago, Chile, it featured artists like Camila Moreno and Paz Court, and panels with figures like Carla Arias and Javiera Tapia. Shortly after, it debuted in Mexico City with performances by Ximena Sariñana and Zemmoa, and panels including Mon Laferte and Jessy Bulbo. RUIDOSA expanded to the United States, presenting a conversation with Latin Grammy nominees in Las Vegas. The 2018 festival in Valparaíso featured Beatriz Pichi Malén and discussions with Denisse Malebrán. In Lima, Peru, 2019, RUIDOSA showcased Pussy Riot, hosted networking events, screened 'Brujas' by Carmen Rojas, and held panels and showcases by female musicians.
This weekend, August 10th, RUIDOSA will hold its first edition in the Big Apple, at none other than the Lincoln Center. It promises to be a transformative day of concerts and panel discussions that elevate and celebrate the voices and visions of Latina women.
The lineup event includes Bebel Gilberto, Buscabulla, iLE, Bruses, Francisca Valenzuela, Nella, Ali Stone, Salt Cathedral, Riobamba, Renee Goust alongside Khylie Rylo: CYBER MASHAKA, and Mireya Ramos of Flor de Toloache.
