Teens Media Network (TMN) is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with the Escola de Mitjans Audiovisuals de Barcelona (EMAV). This partnership will bring together over 10 talented students from EMAV to create a unique communication piece for TMN, blending academic learning with real-world experience.

Under the framework of the Higher Degree Studies in Image and Sound, second-year students in EMAV’s vocational training programs will be participating in a module that aims to give them the real-world learning experience they need to connect learning with practice. During the first trimester of their academic year (September to December), students work on their first professional project, responding to a brief provided by a local non-profit organization. This experience aims to provide students with the opportunity to engage in real-world projects, applying service learning while meeting the needs of the organization. Students will collaborate in interdisciplinary groups, encompassing production, direction, sound, animation, and lighting, under the guidance of EMAV faculty.

For TMN, this partnership is a significant milestone in solidifying their connection with the vibrant creative community of Barcelona. Last summer, TMN had the pleasure of collaborating with several EMAV students as they covered major events like Primavera Sound, Sónar Festival, and Cruïlla Festival. These students, though not officially part of their curriculum, showcased exceptional talent as photographers, videographers, and reporters, contributing high-quality content to TMN. This new collaboration will integrate TMN’s work into the EMAV curriculum, providing a structured platform for students to apply their skills in a professional setting.

What Will the Students Create?

While the details of the project are still being finalized, we can share that the students will be developing an independent communication piece for TMN, set to debut on TMN’s new platform, launching in February 2025. This platform will bring together a host of exciting features, including a completely redesigned news section, enhanced learning opportunities, talent showcases, on-demand videos and content, a unique merchandise store, and the official launch of TMN’s subscription plan along with the TMN Creator Badge. This new digital space will provide TMN with the platform it deserves, reflecting its rapid and steady growth.

For the students, this project is a chance to unleash their creativity and craft a communication piece that embodies the innovative and youthful spirit of TMN’s upcoming platform. It’s an incredible opportunity for them to showcase their talents in a professional setting, while TMN gains the ability to highlight the work of these emerging creators.
