Sitges 2024: Steven Soderbergh Leads a Dazzling Lineup and a Packed Agenda of Activities
Steven Soderbergh, Coralie Fargeat, Alexandre Aja, Asif Kapadia, Natalia Erika James, Adam Elliot, Bertrand Mandico, and Pupi Avati are just a glimpse of the rich lineup at the upcoming Sitges Film Festival.
The 2024 edition of the Sitges Film Festival promises to be a must-attend event for fans of fantastic cinema. With a lineup featuring world-renowned names such as Steven Soderbergh, Coralie Fargeat, Alexandre Aja, and Asif Kapadia, the festival will take place from October 3 to 13 and has already unveiled its its complete program.
American director Steven Soderbergh, known for hits like Ocean’s Eleven, Contagion, and Traffic, will kick off the festival with his new film Presence. This eerie thriller about a family haunted by a mysterious entity will be the highlight of the opening.

In addition to Soderbergh, the festival will showcase the latest works from renowned filmmakers such as Coralie Fargeat, Alexandre Aja, Natalia Erika James y Adam Elliot, offering a lineup that spans from horror to fantasy, with options for both adults and children.
This year’s honorees include Geoffrey Rush and Alexandre Aja, who will share the spotlight with figures like Mike Flanagan, Nick Frost and Heather Lagenkamp. The festival will also recognize the contributions of film legends such as Ovidio G. Assonitis, Christophe Gans, Fred Dekker and Fabio Testi.
The festival goes beyond screenings, offering a wide range of parallel activities for both the general public and the film industry. Among the most anticipated events are Producers meet Producers, the Film Finance Market, and the 20th anniversary of the Jurat Carnet Jove. Initiatives that promote the visibility of women in cinema, such as Woman in Fan, will also play a prominent role.
