Tucker Pillsbury, the artist behind Role Model, wrapped up his European tour "No Place Like Tour" on Monday, December 9th, with a magical show at the Apolo venue in Barcelona. The American singer-songwriter performed tracks from his latest work, "Kansas Anymore" (2024), as well as songs from previous projects.

The energetic and charismatic Role Model wasted no time in sparking a wave of cheers and excited screams with his song "Writing's on the Wall," which kicked off a promising night. With his irresistible, catchy, and melancholic indie-pop style, the floor of the Apolo venue cracked with wild dancing and jumping, in rhythm to “Look at that woman” and “Scumbag.”

But what makes Role Model so special? Is it his ability to belt out songs without losing that contagious smile? Or perhaps it's the unwavering enthusiasm and almost tangible dedication he infuses into every one of his melodies? After 90 minutes of concert, the answer is clear: both.

True to his magnetic style and with flawless pitch in every note, Role Model continued to dazzle the audience with some of his most iconic hits, such as “A Little More Time,” “Superglue” or “The Dinner.” Each performance seemed to outshine the last, leaving the entire crowd completely hypnotized by his overwhelming talent.

Without a doubt, his concert was a gift: a safe space, wrapped in the warmth that Role Model radiates, and one of those fleeting experiences that allows you to shed the weight we all carry on our shoulders every day. During the show, the audience stopped being a crowd and became a single voice, united by shared emotion and by their passion for the American artist’s music.

After an emotional “That’s just how it goes” and an intense “forever&more,” the show reached its peak with one of his biggest hits, “Deeply Still in Love,” where it was impossible not to be carried away by the magic of the moment.
