Last Friday, November 15th, the Apolo La(2) venue in Barcelona hosted Madrid singer-songwriter David Otero as he presented his latest album, Inteligencia Natural. For 90 minutes, the artist filled the stage with anthems from his time in the iconic band El Canto del Loco and highlights from his solo career, proving that he’s not just a former guitarist but remains a truly exceptional artist.

David Otero kicked off his Inteligencia Natural Tour in Barcelona with his track “Metaverso”, followed by “Tal como eres” and the electrifying “Estrellas y Fantasmas”, a song that’s been playing on radios all over Spain.

With his electric guitar always in hand and accompanied by his pianist, drummer, and bassist, the Madrid native created a warm, intimate atmosphere, making the show feel like a gathering of friends. His energetic and emotional performances of “Azul y Blanco” and “Una vez más” sparked waves of enthusiasm in the audience.

The nostalgic portion of the concert began as Otero performed hits from the 2000s that have become a part of Spain’s cultural fabric. Tracks like “Peter Pan”, “Aquellos Años Locos”, “Insoportable” and “Volverá”, had fans of all ages—10, 20, 30, and even 70—singing along passionately, not missing a single lyric. One of the most memorable moments came when Otero paused his performance to highlight a 13-year-old fan in the front row singing Peter Pan with gusto. “Did you know that song is older than you? That makes me feel old,” Otero joked, sparking laughter and applause throughout the venue.
